There could be multiple reasons which is why a couple could be awake throughout the night. Over the years, however, laymen and researchers have been looking for a correlation between snoring and sexual activity. Thanks to weakening muscles in the airways, men tend to rumble more, especially when they get older. Snoring should be tackled by men and their wives looking for a better sleep and happier sex life. Is snoring an erectile dysfunction risk factor? If it is so, you must follow the right snoring treatment.

What Is Snoring?

Blocked airways cause snoring. If the airways are blocked by nothing internal, how snoring happens? Mouth and throat muscles relax too much and don't allow adequate air to move through. When these muscles vibrate the soft palate and uvula together, it creates this annoying sound. Alcohol and obesity can contribute to snoring.

How Does It Affect Sex?

It is reasonable that snoring will influence the sexual function by making the snorer tiredly and unwillingly. Listening to snoring all night will produce the same effect in the companion of the snorer. The main impact of snoring on women is to decrease sexual satisfaction.

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction dramatically disrupts sex life for both men and women. Most people are afraid as they age. Snoring and erectile dysfunction are both frustrating and unexplained health issues.

The American Sleep Apnea Association notes that erectile dysfunction is triggered by excessive snoring or sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a condition causing obstruction of the airways that stops breathing during sleep. This means that during sleep the brain and circulatory system do not have the oxygen they need. Sleep apnea can lead to complications including high blood pressure and breathing dysfunction by this process. Men's sexual organs cannot function properly without proper blood pressure and circulation. This is how erectile dysfunction can result from snoring.

Less Snoring for Better Sexual Satisfaction

What appears to be just a nagging quirk in a partner could lead to serious problems in the future. Responding to a snoring problem can avoid more complicated side effects.

Overweight can contribute to snoring. The airways can be reduced by an accumulation of fat around the face and neck. Consider modifying habits like diet and exercise to maintain a reasonable range of weight. This will not only improve sleep quality, but also the overall quality of life (including sex life)!

Sleep Apnea Affects Life

There are multiple side effects of sleep apnea including fatigue, risk of cardiac disease, high blood pressure and stroke. But the effect of sleep apnea on women is not as widely documented.

That may change, however. A -number of researchers have found that sleep apnea could drag you down into your love life, causing male erectile dysfunction and female libido loss.

The new study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine compared 80 women between the ages of 28 and 64 with 240 women who do not have sleep apnea and found that women with apnea have significantly higher sexual dysfunction rates.

A 2009 study has shown that 70% of 401 people suspected of sleep apnea also suffer from erectile dysfunction.

In fact, snoring in the United States is believed to be the third most common cause of divorce. Continued snoring and sleep disturbances worsen the relationship because of lack of rest.

CPAP Machine

The CPAP, a system that is worn while sleeping does not close the airway, can mitigate or relieve sleep apnea and does not interfere with intimacy. If their spouses sleep in the same bedroom, they are 60 percent more likely to comply with their treatment plans.
